History
The Portsmouth Drug and Alcohol Service opened their current base at Kingsway House in 1997, offering a range of specialist interventions ranging from Triage: Assessment; Substitute prescribing; 1:1 Counseling; Care management: and Referral to detox (Baytrees) and Residential Rehabilitation Centres, for people affected by problematic drug and alcohol use.
 
Current Activities
Kingsway House, the Tier 3 drug and alcohol resource centre based in Southsea offers a range of specialist interventions including:

  • Comprehensive Assessment.
  • Substitute prescribing.
  • 1:1 drug and alcohol focused work.
  • Group therapies.
  • ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy)
  • Care management.
  • Community detoxification.
  • Auricular Acupuncture.
  • Access to Tier 4 residential detoxification.
  • Referral to counselling services.
  • Access to Residential Rehabilitation Centres.

The service is underpinned by a commitment to involving service users and Carers at every level of service delivery
