All the work with the young person is carried out in the community, often in the young persons own home or other appropriate non-clinical setting. We offer an open access drop-in at the Health Living centre. Alloway Ave Paulsgrove, Wednesdays 1pm - 2.30pm and Go for it Young persons one stop shop (By Portsmouth railway station), Wednesdays 3pm - 5pm.
Referral Method
Referrals are accepted by any person, parent or professional or can be in the form of self-referral. All that is needed is a telephone call to us on 02392 825140 (confidential answer phone outside of office hours).
History
Formed 1997, Es Up delivers a Portsmouth based service to young people under 19 affected by problematic drug and alcohol use. The team is comprised of a multi agency background, In working with young people we respond to the motivational needs of young people offering a quick assessment timescale. We work in conjunction with a variety of other services such as Child and Family Therapy Services, Social Services, Youth Services, Careers, Education, Young Peoples Counselling and Leisure Services to design individual packages of care for the young person.
Current Activities
E's Up is for young people under the age of 19 who are having problems with substance misuse, which they want to address. We offer free confidential specialist Treatment, advice and information as well as individual sessions and support. Treatment such as substitute prescribing programmes and detoxification. We work with all forms of substance misuse:- drugs (any type) and/or alcohol, as well as solvents such as gases. We offer a range of interventions including Counselling; Needle exchange; acupuncture; and family support as well as psychosocial approaches to young people.
