September 19th 2007 saw the successful Recovery Conference. Since that date we have been working on the action plan. There has been a lot of activity behind the scenes.

After the Conference we needed to follow up on the afternoon workshop where the focus was on developing a 'strap line', which defined 'recovery'.

The Recovery Conference Organising Committee met 4th on October 2007, and a list of 'strap lines' from the day were put onto a voting form, which was widely distributed.

The Winning Strap Line was 'Recovery - Yourself, Your Life'.

The Artwork from the Conference is currently with the printers and being formatted into postcards. We obtained permission from all the artists so that their names could be printed on the cards. These will be launched in the New Year.

The Recovery Organising Committee has now handed over to the Recovery Partnership Group. This Group met for the second time on 31st October 2007. The focus of the meeting was to establish the function and role of the meeting, terms of reference and membership. This group is due to meet in early January 2008 to formalise these issues. We will be contacting all the people who expressed an interest in taking the agenda forward in the New Year. Furthermore the group will need to address the learning actions from the Workshops at the Recovery Conference.

Additional work has been to support other projects such as STR pathway and the onset of STAR Wards. The values and principles of recovery are embedded in the new CPA training package and Risk training programme. There is a wealth of good practice currently going on. So, we are truly embarking on the road to Recovery.
