GOVERNMENT POLICY
No health without mental Health: across government mental health outcomes strategy for people of all ages. February 2011
The strategy sets out six shared objectives to improve the mental health and well being of the nation and to improve the outcomes for people with mental health problems.
The objectives are:-
- More people with good mental health
- More people with mental health problems will recover
- More people with mental health problems will have good physical health
- More people will have a positive experience of care and support
- Fewer people will suffer avoidable harm
- Fewer people will experience stigma and discrimination

The government have set up a Ministerial Advisory Group to define the outcomes for this work.
Work streams include:-
Public Mental Health and Wellbeing
Suicide Prevention
Social Inclusion e.g. stigma, employment, etc
Offender health, forensic mental health and Personality Disorder
Talking Therapies
Recovery
Equality Issues
