CARER'S RIGHTS DAY
Friday 2nd December 2011, Southsea Library 10am-3pm.
The theme for this year's Carers Rights Day is simple: Money Matters - because without support, we know that carers can end in debt, struggling to pay essential bills and sometimes sick with the stress of it. Carers Rights Day is about getting carers the information and advice they need to claim benefits, get a carer's assessment and access support.

Shift – the Department of Health supported campaign against mental health stigma and discrimination – came to an end last month. 13 OCTOBER 2010 - WORKING IT OUT: A NEW, FREE EMPLOYMENT RESOURCE FROM SHIFT
Shift is the Department of Health-funded initiative, which aims to tackle the stigma and discrimination surrounding mental health issues in England. Shift's comprehensive new resource pack called Working it Out is designed to help raise awareness of mental health conditions in the workplace and provides employers with practical advice and guidance on how best to support and manage a member of staff should they become unwell. 7 OCTOBER 2010 - THE COST OF MENTAL ILL HEALTH
The cost of mental ill health in England is now £105.2 billion a year, according to an update published by Centre for Mental Health. The figure includes the costs of health and social care for people with mental health problems, lost output in the economy, for example from sickness absence and unemployment, and the human costs of reduced quality of life.
