Portsmouth and Southsea Depression Group Update.
This new peer support group meets on the second Saturday of each month from 11am - 1pm at the Books and Bites Café, 3rd Floor, Portsmouth Central Library.

Carers Cafe
There is a Saturday Carers Café at the Carers Centre in Orchard Road, Southsea, it runs from 10 am until 2 pm and is for those carers who cannot attend groups at other times during the week. Staff are available to offer help and support along with Tea/Coffee and a chat.
N.B. Did you know that there are over 4500 adult carers registered at Portsmouth Carers Centre and that 29 carers groups use the carers Centre on a regular basis!

On the Border
This is a new group set up for carers of relatives with Borderline Personality Disorder, it meets on a Thursday evening from 6.30 - 8.30 at the Carers Centre, 117 Orchard Road, Southsea. It aims to help Carers develop coping skills.

Rebound
This group is for carers of people who have alcohol or drug abuse problems. It offers counselling and support. They meet every Tuesday from 7 -8.45 at the Carers Centre.

The National Archives
Are you trying to find out about relatives who were in an asylum or mental hospital? The National Archives has a webpage giving information about how to look for records of people who were asylum inmates. In order to track them you will need to have the person's full name, the name of the institution or asylum and the approximate date of admission.
